Terms and Conditions

At Pro Dog School we are qualified, experienced and insured, ready to help you with your pet’s behavioural issues. Each animal-owner relationship is unique and therefore requires varying training. We can provide you with a tailor-made training schedules using gentle, reward based methods. We do not condone the use of choke collars, shock collars or any other form of training which involves punishment.

1. Veterinary Referral: All behavioural modification programs require a veterinary referral before any consultations can take place. This is to ensure that there is no underlying medical issue which could contribute to your pet’s behaviour.

2. Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of £50.00 is required to secure a behaviour modification program. Fees and deposits are accepted by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

3. Behaviour Modification Programs are charged at £175.00 and include:

  • Full analysis of an in-depth questionnaire
  • Design of a tailored behavioural modification and training program
  • A consultation – to implement the training schedule (2-3 hrs)
  • Handouts and tailored notes and training plan
  • Ongoing email and telephone support
  • Update to your vet

NB:  Email and telephone support is available for six months after the initial consultation.

4. Training can take place in your home, outside or at any other location where your pet’s behavioural issues occurs. Further consultations can be booked at a rate of £50.00 per hour.

5. Notes: You will be provided with a handouts and email training notes and actions, to accompany your behaviour modification program, within one week of the second consultation.

6. Veterinary Updates: Updates of your pet’s progress will be sent directly to your vets for them to keep on file.

7. Your Insurance Company: Many pet insurance companies will cover the cost of behavioural therapy as long as they are contacted beforehand. Pro Dog School are happy to provide your insurance company with an invoice to help you with your claim, however all fees need to be paid to us by yourself directly.

8. Our Insurance: Holly Keeling, owner of Pro Dog School, holds Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance. However, Pro Dog School does not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury to any person or property.

9. Refunds and Cancellations: If refunds are offered they will be minus the £50 deposit. If, on more than one occasion, you cancel a consultation within one week of the scheduled time you will forfeit all fees and will be charged at £50.00 for each one hour consultation request thereafter.

Terms and Conditions of Pro Dog School Obedience Club Classes

Training methods in class are kind and reward based. Classes are designed to be fun for both you and your dog and to equip you for training your dog at home. Classes are limited to eight dogs so that we can ensure that there is time for one to one attention. The Pro Dog School terms outlined below are in place to protect you and your dog as well as the others present on your course.

1. Handling: Harsh handling or the use of physical force on dogs in our classes is not allowed. Choke and check chains along with flexi leads are also banned.

2. Bookings: Refunds are subject to the owner giving 7 days notice prior to the course start date. Once on a course, if owners are unable to attend a class they are requested to let the tutor know as soon as possible. There are no partial refunds for missed classes.

3. Vaccinations and Health: All dogs are required to be fully up to date with their vaccinations, documentation of which must be shown at the first class. There is no refund offered for cancellations due to lack of vaccination or no vaccination card, unless we are notified 7 days in advance of the course commencing. It is the owners responsibility to have their dog fully vaccinated and health warranted. Dogs who are ill, injured or in season (bitches) are not allowed to attend class. However, on these occasions it is advisable that the owner still attends alone so that they can continue the training at home.

4. Control of Dogs: All dogs must be on a lead and away from other dogs, unless specifically instructed by the tutor. Owners are expected to take their dogs outside to toilet and to clean up after them. If your dog is likely to bark a lot in class please let us know before the course starts so that we can help you to manage it in advance. You can also request our “barking in class” help sheet.

Dogs with a history of aggression towards other dogs or humans are not allowed to attend our classes. People who knowingly enrol an aggressive dog on one of our courses will be asked to leave and will forfeit a refund. Owners with aggressive dogs are asked to join our reactive dog course.

5. Children over 5 years of age are encouraged to attend class. Classes are great for children and dogs to learn how to act appropriate around each other. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that their children behave in a manner that is respectable to others attending class. Children are expected to listen when the tutor is talking and to refrain from disrupting the class.

6. Liability: Pro Dog School does not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury to any person or property.

 
Terms and Conditions of Pro Dog School Reactive Dog Course

Once on a course, if owners are unable to attend a class they are requested to let the tutor know as soon as possible and are advised to arrange a private set up session so that their dog continues to progress. There are no partial refunds for missed classes.

3. Vaccinations and Health: All dogs are required to be fully up to date with their vaccinations, documentation of which must be shown at the first class. There is no refund offered for cancellations due to lack of vaccination or no vaccination card, unless we are notified 7 days in advance of the course commencing. It is the owners responsibility to have their dog fully vaccinated and health warranted. Dogs who are ill, injured or in season (bitches) are not allowed to attend class. However, on these occasions it is advisable that the owner still attends alone so that they can continue the training at home.

4. Liability and Safety: Pro Dog School does not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury to any person, dog or property.

All dogs must be on a lead and away from other dogs, unless specifically instructed by the tutor. Owners understand that attendance at a dog training session may pose some risk to themselves, members of their family, their guests, and their dog(s) and expressly assume the risk of any damage or injury (to themselves, their dog(s), and/or any minors attending a dog training session with them) incurred as a result of dog training sessions. If bringing children to the session, they will be responsible for their care and appropriate supervision.

To minimize all risks, the owner agrees to disclose the tutor any danger or sensitivities their dog(s) may present. They will immediately inform the tutor of any situations that may provoke aggression in their dog(s) and be responsible for avoiding those situations.

In consideration of their participation in a dog training session the owner, on behalf of themselves and any minors attending the dog training session, waive, release, and agree to hold harmless Holly Hunt, Pro Dog School, Pro Dog School and any and all of its employees, volunteers, agents, insurers, and successors from any and all causes of actions, claims, demands, losses, injuries, and damages of any kind which may be sustained by them or their dog(s) in connection with the dog training session. The owner is responsible for damages caused by their dog(s) and/or family members.

Terms and Conditions of Pro Dog School Puppy Classes
Training methods in class are kind and reward –based. Classes are designed to be fun for both you and your puppy and to equip you for training your puppy at home. Classes are limited to a maximum of 8 puppies so that we can ensure that there is time for one to one attention. The Pro Dog School terms outlined below are in place to protect you and your puppy as well as the others present on your course.

1. Handling: Harsh handling or the use of physical force on puppies in our classes is not allowed. Choke and check chains along with flexi leads are also banned.

2. Bookings: Refunds are subject to the owner giving 7 days notice prior to the course start date. Once on a course, if owners are unable to attend a class they are requested to let the tutor know as soon as possible. There are no partial refunds for missed classes. Pro Dog School does not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury to any person or property.

Training methods in class are kind and reward –based. Classes are designed to be fun for both you and your dog and to equip you for training your dog at home. Classes are limited to 8 dogs so that we can ensure that there is time for one to one attention. The Pro Dog School terms outlined below are in place to protect you and your dog as well as the others present on your course.

1. Club Rules: All attendees are expected to help with moving the agility equipment. Whether this be putting the equipment out for the first class, packing it away after the last class or adjusting equipment during class. People who do not help with the equipment in class may not be able to renew their space on further courses. If an owner has a medical issue that means that they cannot move heavy equipment they are requested to let the instructor know immediately and will not be expected to move equipment.

2. Age Restrictions: To avoid damage to their joints as they grow, puppies are restricted to agility equipment that does not involve jumping of twisting (weaves) until they are one year of age. Our puppy classes will focus on agility commands, basic obedience and ground based agility equipment (tunnel, contact obstacles and table). Dogs must be over one year of age to take part in our dog agility classes.

3. Veterinary Referrals: All dogs, over one year of age, attending Pro Dog School agility classes require a veterinary referral form completed by their vet. This referral certifies that there is no underlying medical issue that would make it unsafe for the dog to take part in agility. As a condition of membership, owners are expected to have the form completed at one of their dog’s check up’s with the vets, within six months of starting agility classes.

However, on these occasions it is advisable that the owner still attends alone so that they can keep up with the class content.
